What is SSD ? and SSD vs HDD

What is SSD?

Solid-state-drive(ssd) is a non volatile storage media.SSDs are some times reffered to as flash drives.
A flash drive is a small, ultraportable storage device which unlike an optical drive.
Flash drives are often reffered to as PENDRIVES.
SSD are sometimes called as solid state disk.ssd has no moving mechanical components.

what are SSD used for?

ssd  provides faster storage and other performance benefits than fixed disk. SSDs offers lower latency than HDDs.

High performance servers ,laptops, desktops or any application that needs to deliver information in realtime  can benefit from SSD technology.

Most of the gamers use this SSDs for good performance.

those who want to bulid any android applications using ANDROID STUDIO  , SSDs will give better performance than HDDs.

➤ SSDs that comes in traditional HDD form factors and fit into the same SAS and  SATA slots

SSD Pricing

pricing for SSDs has been much higher than that of conventional hard drives. Due to improvements in manufacturing technology  and expanded chip capacity.

The market for SSDs is influenced by MOORE's Law, as much as supply and demand.

HOW MUCH CAN YOU SPEND?

SSDs ranging from 128GB to 2TB.while 128 GB are cheapest, they aren't roomy enough to hold a lot of software and are usually slower than their higher capacity counterparts.it cost as little as $10 .
The delta between 250GB to 500GB drives can be slightly more.

➤My suggestion is that 500GB is the sweet spot between price, performance and capacity for more users...

  • Best SSD for most people:Samsung 860 EVO SSD.
  • Best budget SSD:Crucial BX300 SATA SSD.
